• UAM announces homecoming court (pbcommercial.com) — UAM in Monticello has announced its 2026 Homecoming Court, featuring several students from Monticello alongside others from across Arkansas and neighboring states. The Homecoming Queen will be crowned October 10 before the football game, and a full week of events runs October 5–10, giving local students, families, and alumni plenty of chances to celebrate on campus.
   

• University of Arkansas at Monticello opens Arkansas Forest Health Research Center (katv.com) — A new Arkansas Forest Health Research Center has just opened at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, giving local students hands-on lab experience while tackling threats to the state’s forests. Researchers will study what makes trees sick, develop more resilient species, and support Arkansas’ timber, hunting, and recreation economy, with leaders stressing how forest health ties directly to residents’ quality of life.
