• Free named Arkansas Male High School Runner of the Year (ktlo.com) — Mountain Home’s own Jackson Free has been honored as Arkansas Male High School Runner of the Year after a standout career leading the Bombers’ cross country and track teams. The senior distance star, now headed to run for the Arkansas Razorbacks, was recognized by the Arkansas Cross Country and Track and Field Hall of Fame for his achievements during the 2025–26 school year. 
• David Lee Pendergrass (ozarkradionews.com) — Mountain Home is mourning the passing of 79-year-old resident David Lee Pendergrass, who died May 29 in Yellville. A U.S. Army veteran and longtime BSI Waste employee, he is remembered for his love of wood carving, birdhouses, and the outdoors, and is survived by his wife Patricia of Mountain Home and other family members. No services are planned at this time.
