• Sanders orders flags to fly at half-staff to honor Arkansan sailor killed at Pearl Harbor (arkansasonline.com) — Flags across Arkansas are flying at half-staff today to honor Royle Bradford Luker, a U.S. Navy fireman and North Little Rock native killed at Pearl Harbor in 1941. After decades listed as missing, advances in forensic science finally identified his remains, and he’s being laid to rest this afternoon in Plainview with full recognition of his sacrifice.
• Leverett Deals Quality Start But Travs Tripped (oursportscentral.com) — Baseball fans in North Little Rock saw Arkansas Travelers starter Adam Leverett throw six strong innings Sunday, but the Travs still fell 2-1 to the Frisco RoughRiders at Dickey-Stephens Park. Arkansas managed just three hits and lost the home series, their first series defeat in six, before heading out on a road trip to Corpus Christi this week.
