• North Little Rock homeowner speaks after lightning strike sparks house fire (fox16.com) — A North Little Rock family is recovering after lightning struck their home early Wednesday, sparking an attic fire that left the house temporarily unlivable. The North Little Rock Fire Department’s fast response kept flames contained to the attic, though water and smoke damage are extensive, and the family is staying with relatives while insurance-covered repairs are made. 
• Vada Sheid named to Arkansas Women's Hall of Fame 2026 Class (ktlo.com) — North Little Rock will host the Arkansas Women’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony on August 27, where late lawmaker and Ozarks advocate Vada Sheid will be honored.
