• UADA specialist receives $1.6 million grant funding to plant more than 166,000 trees in central Arkansas (stuttgartdailyleader.com) — A major new tree-planting effort is bringing free native trees to central Arkansas, with North Little Rock Engineering listed among the many partner organizations helping guide the work. Over the next three and a half years, residents and groups in six counties can request thousands of trees to improve shade, water quality, and local neighborhoods. Orders of up to 50 trees can be placed online, with larger requests handled directly by project staff. 
• Arkansas metro job numbers revised, most areas see job gains in January (talkbusiness.net) — North Little Rock is part of a Central Arkansas job market that added 1,500 nonfarm jobs in January but is also seeing a sharp rise in unemployment. New federal revisions lowered historic job counts statewide while still showing record-high employment levels for Arkansas overall. The report compares Central Arkansas trends with other state metros and national jobless figures.
