Barbaree takes assistant superintendent post in Springdale after Pine Bluff tenure (katv.com) — Pine Bluff residents should know that former Pine Bluff School District superintendent Dr. Jennifer Barbaree has accepted an assistant superintendent role in Springdale, even after receiving a contract extension through 2029. Her departure comes as the district manages construction of the new Pine Bluff High School and fallout from a cyberattack that diverted more than $3.2 million in construction funds.
   

2. Pine Bluff Council approves $153K street equipment purchase, Announces athletic director (pbcommercial.com) — Pine Bluff’s City Council advanced tougher minimum housing standards, approved over $153,000 in new street equipment, and kept transit funding on track with a key compliance vote. City leaders also introduced a new athletic director and reminded residents to set Waste Management trash carts out by June 8 for pickup.
   

3. Central Moloney Moves Headquarters to North Little Rock While Expanding Pine Bluff Manufacturing (deltaplexnews.com) — Central Moloney is moving its corporate headquarters from Pine Bluff to North Little Rock but says it will keep and upgrade its Jefferson County manufacturing plant, investing up to $10 million. Company leaders stress that local production and jobs will remain, even as they tackle workforce shortages and rising material and transportation costs across the transformer industry.
   

4. Chef Payne Harding Takes Second Consecutive Delta Diamond Chef Crown (aymag.com) — Pine Bluff’s Saracen Resort Hotel hosted the Delta Diamond Chef competition, where Little Rock chef Payne Harding claimed his second straight title in a razor-close finish. The evening also spotlighted local talent, including UAPB’s Chef Jinnings Burruss Jr., who earned Arkansas Delta Chapter Chef of the Year while helping showcase the city’s growing culinary profile.
