Carlock named PBSD interim superintendent; Stargell to fulfill Zone 4 term (pbcommercial.com) — Leadership is shifting in the Pine Bluff School District as longtime educator Phillip Carlock steps in as acting, then interim, superintendent while the board also appoints Sebastian Stargell Sr. to fill the Zone 4 seat through 2028. The board has not yet outlined a search for a permanent superintendent, even as members debate transparency and fiscal oversight following the district’s recent cyberattack-related loss.

W. Jinnings Burruss Jr. says the honor caps nearly four decades of blending culinary arts, education, and leadership while mentoring students and strengthening local banquet and restaurant operations.
