• Rhiannon Umfleet becomes first woman to graduate from UCA Aviation Academy (uca.edu) — A young woman from Prairie Grove, Rhiannon Umfleet, has become the first woman to graduate from UCA’s Aviation Academy, earning her private, instrument, and commercial pilot certificates. Now training to be a flight instructor, she hopes her journey from Prairie Grove to the cockpit will encourage local girls and others in Northwest Arkansas to consider aviation careers. 
• Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park recently certified as Trail of Tears landmark (nwahomepage.com) — Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park has been officially certified as a Trail of Tears landmark, adding national recognition to a site many locals already cherish. With the designation drawing more visitors ahead of America’s 250th birthday, park staff are highlighting connections like the Latta House and offering free, five-days-a-week access to explore both Civil War and Native American history.
