1 Dead, 8 Wounded In Shooting At CA Hookah Lounge

Gunfire struck several people who had gathered for a party in San Bernardino on Friday night. Here's what we know.

SAN BERNARDINO, CA — One man was killed and eight other people were wounded during in a shooting at party that drew at least 100 people to a hookah lounge in San Bernardino Friday night, police said Saturday.

Gunfire erupted just before midnight outside a hookah bar near the intersection of Palm and Highland avenues, police said. Witnesses said the group had gathered for a graduation party. One witness told ABC7 that a vehicle pulled up to a gas station, with one person inside the vehicle firing rounds at the crowd, striking two girls.

The man, Allen Gresham, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene, a police statement said. Eight others transported themselves to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, ABC7 reported.

Two people were detained and one was arrested on suspicion of possessing a stolen gun, the police statement said. They were not identified.

The shooting involving at least two people started inside the hookah lounge after an argument and people spilled into the parking lot, where more shots were fired, Thomas and the statement said.
