Elderly Veteran Said He Was Attacked For Wearing MAGA Hat
The 77-year-old man was allegedly placed in a headlock and beaten over the head in Red Bluff.

RED BLUFF, CA — A 77-year-old military veteran said he was attacked in Red Bluff for wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat Friday. Although the man did not wish to be identified, he told Fox News he was battered by two people in broad daylight.
According to the victim, he was approached by a man and a woman while wearing a MAGA hat and a "Back the Blue" mask with a blue line, to show his support of police and President Donald Trump.
"She looked at me and she goes, 'We just don't like people like you.' Just kind of got shocked a little bit and said, 'Well, that breaks my heart,' and no more sooner out of my mouth, I get hit on the left side of my head," the man told Fox17.

The veteran was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in an ambulance, where he was treated and later released, Fox 17 reported. A photo showed cuts and scrapes to the top of his head. The man has also reported a persisting headache several days later.
Red Bluff Police later arrested 26-year-old Daniel Gomez-Martinez in connection to the incident. He was arrested on battery and elderly abuse charges.
"I was so shocked for the hate that people have, you know. I don't hate them. I never met them," the man told Fox 17. "I just can't believe they would do something like that."
