The 98th Academy Awards brought the award season to a close on Sunday with historic firsts and colorful red carpet looks.
Celebrities posed for pictures on the red carpet outside the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. Sunday. The night's fashions showcased bright colors, plenty of deep dark hues and intricate embroidery. Several stars including Anne Hathaway and Mikey Madison could be seen wearing embroidered gowns, while Oscar winner Michael B. Jordan and Wunmi Mosaku went for richer hues.

Pops of color dominated the Oscars red carpet as stars like Renate Reinsve to Chase Infiniti stunned in colorful gowns that put a modern twist on traditional Oscars red carpet glamour.
Reinsve radiated on the carpet in a bright red Louis Vuitton strapless dress with a high side slit and curved train. She paired the look with a red lip and her hair slicked back. For her first Academy Awards ceremony, Infiniti opted for a pale lavender mermaid-style ruffle dress also by Louis Vuitton that she wore with a shimmering jeweled choker. The Hollywood darling has delivered strikingly stylish looks across award show season for her role in “One Battle After Another.”

For cinema’s biggest night, some stars marked their moment with designs that evoked old Hollywood.
Rose Byrne arrived in a timeless custom black Dior gown embroidered with colorful beaded flowers. Actor Wunmi Mosaku of “Sinners” showcased classic elegance in a off-the-shoulder teal sequined Louis Vuitton dress while also showing off her baby bump.
After walking the red carpet, the stars packed the theater, where host Conan O'Brien ran into theater dressed as Gladys from "Weapons." O'Brien roasted the films in his opening monologue and teased Timothée Chalamet for his recent comments about ballet and opera. O'Brien also wasted no time giving himself the first award of the night for best achievement with singer Josh Groban serenading him while accepting his award.
Once the show got underway, " One Battle After Another" and "Sinners" swept many of the film categories. "One Battle After Another" took home six Oscars, including Paul Thomas Anderson for best director, Sean Penn for best supporting actor, best picture, and Cassandra Kulukundis for the first ever award for best casting. "Sinners" took home four awards including Michael B. Jordan winning the contentious best actor category.
Jesse Buckley and Amy Madigan won the best actress and best supporting actress statuettes in their roles for " Hamnet" and "Weapons" respectively.
The most memorable moment of the night came when the singers from "Kpop Demon Hunters" sang the highly popular song "Golden" on the Dolby Theater stage. The movie would later snag the Oscar for best song.
The Oscars also paid several tributes to stars who recently passed away. Billy Crystal paid homage to the late director Rob Reiner, reminiscing about working with him and all that he accomplished in his decades spanning career. He was later joined on stage by several actors who also worked with the director including Demi Moore, Kathy Bates, Meg Ryan, Cary Elwes, and Mandy Patinkin. Barbara Streisand also payed tribute to the late Robert Redford by singing "The Way We Were".
