Tornado Touches Down In California: National Weather Service
A tornado touched around 1:40 p.m. Tuesday.

SACRAMENTO, CA – A tornado touched down about four miles north of Galt around 1:40 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service Sacramento.
The tornado, which hit near highway 99 and Arno Road, blew a tin roof off of a barn and windows off of a bus, and downed powerlines, the National Weather Service Sacramento reported.
According to the agency, California averages 11 tornadoes per year. California tornadoes typically occur in the spring and fall in the northern half of the Central Valley, the National Weather Service Sacramento added.
