Woman Fatally Falls Off CA Cliff Following Car Crash On Highway 1
A Coast Guard helicopter team recovered a woman's body after she reportedly fell 300 feet from a cliff moments after a car collision.

CALIFORNIA — A 40-year-old woman fell to her death off of a cliffside moments after a car collision in Santa Cruz County on Monday, authorities said.
The woman, who has not been publicly identified, rear-ended big wave surfer Darryl "Flea" Virotsko as he was driving along Highway 1 on Monday, KSBW reported.
The woman then exited her vehicle, crossed the road and approached the cliff overlooking the ocean before she plummeted 300 feet into the water, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The U.S. Coast Guard later recovered her body.
The CHP has not determined whether she fell or jumped.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office and CHP will further investigate the incident. Police said alcohol and drugs have not been ruled out.
