• Adelanto man, 26, dies after being found unresponsive in jail cell (vvdailypress.com) — An Adelanto resident has died after being found unresponsive in a Rancho Cucamonga jail cell, where he was being held on a probation violation case. Authorities say the 26-year-old man showed no obvious signs of trauma, and an autopsy will determine his cause of death. No additional details have been released so far.
   

• Operation Consequences Nets 76 Arrests, Focused Largely In High Desert Communities (vvng.com) — Adelanto was one of several High Desert cities targeted in a weeklong Operation Consequences sweep that led to 76 arrests, 76 seized firearms, and nearly 12 pounds of suspected narcotics. Deputies and partner agencies focused on gangs, illegal guns, and parole and probation compliance. Officials say the crime-suppression effort will continue in coming months.
