• Peltbeam Brings Free High-Speed Wireless Internet To Areas Across Adelanto (vvng.com) — Free high-speed outdoor Wi-Fi is now live around Adelanto City Hall, the community center, senior center, skate park, and nearby neighborhoods, with no cost to the city’s general fund. City leaders and tech firm Peltbeam plan to discuss expanding coverage and adding indoor service at the May 13 council meeting, aiming to close the digital divide and move Adelanto toward “smart city” status. 
• 'Being here breaks people': Inside solitary confinement at Adelanto (laist.com) — Conditions inside the Adelanto ICE Processing Center, including solitary confinement and limited medical and legal access, are drawing scrutiny in a federal lawsuit seeking changes. Detainees and advocates describe harsh isolation practices they say punish people for requesting care or basic dignity, while federal officials and the facility’s operator insist they meet detention standards. The case continues in court later this month.
