5 Tips on Staying Committed to Fitness over the Summer
A few tips on staying motivated for your workouts....

Yeah!!! Summer is here, but boy can it be a challenge to stick to your workout routine! Kids are out of school, summer trips and vacations are planned and don't forget about all those summer fun BBQ's. These are just a few reason that make summer hard to stick to your workout and fitness regime. There are some things you can do to help keep you on track and motivated to stick with your plan.
Change up your workouts:
- Learn some new exercises by watching new videos or hiring a personal trainer to help you design something new. Learning new things to add into your routines will give you a new spark and excitement to get to the gym.
Work on a new goal:
- Think about a new goal you would like to obtain and challenge yourself to hit that goal before the end of the summer. Remember, it doesn't always have to be gym related. It can be a hike that is really hard for you and you decide you want to run the whole thing by the end of the summer.
Change your scenery:
- Being fit and active does not mean you have to do it indoors in a gym. You can swim, play tennis, hike, run at the beach or join an intramurals team. Do something everyday to get your heart rate up and do something you will enjoy doing. This is key!
Make a new playlist:
- Purchase some new music to download and create a new playlist of music that gets you pumped up and motivated to get moving! Nothing like good music to get you motivated!
Get some new gear:
- Go out and get some new workout clothes. It feels good to put on something new and get your workout on!
With a new routine planned out, a new goal to focus on, a nice view, some new tunes and new clothes to wear you will be ready to hit your workout and hit it hard. Stay focused and committed and you will reach your goals. Keep on moving.
