Agoura High's Seyler Makes VIBL All-Star Team
The Chargers' junior second baseman is one of 21 on the West roster for the game on Saturday at Harvard-Westlake High

Agoura High second baseman Mark Seyler has been selected to participate in the Valley Invitational Baseball League All-Star game, which will be played on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Harvard-Westlake High in North Hollywood.
Seyler, a junior, is one of 21 players on the roster of the West team.
"Mark is a great player, he deserves to be an all-star,'' Agoura coach Dennis Reitz said. "He does so many things well for us, both at the plate and in the field. It's really nice to know that his play is not going unnoticed.''

Seyler has been as reliable as they come at second base and his presence, along with shortstop Tyler Cohen, has helped solidify the middle of the defense and made things much easier on pitchers such as Jordan Shulman.
Offensively, he's been a mainstay at the top of the Agoura lineup. Seyler has managed to keep his batting average right around the .300 mark.

The fact that he's done so well so far this summer shouldn't come as a major surprise considering he was a steady contributor for the Chargers last season. He played in 22 games at the varsity level and ended up hitting. 300.
"Seyler is good, heady little player who is smart and understands the game,'' Granada Hills Kennedy coach Manny Alvarado said.
While Seyler has excelled over the course of the past month, Agoura has struggled. The Chargers opened VIBL play with losses in their first seven games, but have won two out of three games since the early season slide.
Seyler has been at the forefront of that resurgence, although he's had help along the way from teammates Brody Fehmel, Sam Gerald and Daniel Kolodin.
"We have something special in Mark,'' Reitz said. "We have a lot of young kids, but he's got a bright future with us here at Agoura.''
