I've knocked on more than 1,200 doors and our fantastic LVUSD schools are still bringing new families to Agoura Hills.
During my campaign for City Council, I have put great emphasis on walking door to door. I have walked almost every day since Labor Day and have knocked on an estimated 1,200 doors from Liberty Canyon our eastern border to Lake Lindero, our western border. I want to share some of what I have heard in a series of blogs over the next few days.
I've learned that residents are still moving to Agoura Hills for the same reasons as Joe and I did in 1992; first and foremost for the LVUSD schools. Our schools bring in people from all over southern California. Our residents care about education and are willing to commute to work to live in an area where their children can attend top ranked public schools.
That's why Measure K is so important.

Our school district needs more control of school funding so we can continue to provide the best education, and all that comes with it, for years to come. And, to keep our property values high, we need to continue attracting new families the same way we have been doing for the past 20+ years - our top ranked schools.
Both of my children flourished as they went through the LVUSD schools and both are now away at college. Both have been recognized in college for their strong writing abilities, thanks to some top notch LVUSD teachers along the way. Both still stay in touch with some of their Agoura High teachers because they were such strong influences on them.

As an empty nester, I want all children in our community to have the same opportunities as Sara and David. Our children are the future leaders of this country and I want them to start with the right stuff. Join me in supporting Measure K on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
