The world of VOM FASS

Alan and I visited a unique shop we have been wanting to check out in Westlake Village for a long time.  We drove by and parked next to this unique store too many times and we could not avoid it any longer. So, finally after entering the store, we both knew immediately we were not leaving empty handed.

The owner greeted us right away and walked us around the shop. “All of our extraordinary products, from Truffle oil, to Balsamic vinegars, to fine scotches, wines and liqueurs, can be tasted right in our store.” he enthusiastically said.

After a  short and informative  lesson on olive oils, balsamic vinegars, liqueurs and wines. He immediately offered us different samples to get a true taste of the gourmet culinary condiments, fruit vinegars, exquisite oils and exotic liqueurs. We were both pleasantly surprised by the unique selection of the finest and most flavorful products from around the globe.

What makes this place unique is that the owner is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Selling straight from the cask to the customer also brings back that relationship originally found when customers used to buy directly from the producer. Also, each bottle is inscribed with a special message and with details of their contents. I especially loved the idea to return with our own bottles for a refill!

And of course, after spending a whole hour smoozing and tasting, we left the store with few items we had to have such as, the Argan oil from Morocco, Toasted sesame oil, Aceto Balsamico from Modena.  Well...Alan had to have the Libertine Absinte from France ( 72% VOL) Oy vey!!

Needless to say, our party is about to begin…..

Westlake Village,
