An inside look at the band and the legacy of its music.

If you're a lover of classic rock 'n roll then you're going to want to check out this two night documentary about one of the all-time great bands The Eagles.  Showtime has exclusively acquired the rights to this documentary, History Of The Eagles which is two parts and airs over two nights. Part one will premiere on Friday night at 8 p.m. with part 2 airing on Saturday night (check local listings).

Made by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney (Taxi to the Dark Side, Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room), who was granted unprecendented access to this iconic group, delves into the history of the band and the legacy of its music.

In an exclusive interview with Showtime about this project, Don Henley recounts: “We’ve traditionally, in this band, been very private…we haven't allowed a lot of access…especially backstage and when we’re not performing. Some of the things in this documentary are rare glimpses into that world that we’ve really never allowed before.”

Glenn Frey elaborates: “… this documentary is about survival; worthwhile relationships survive because people care about each other. And there are always going to be peaks and valleys, it’s never going to be perfect.  You enjoy the good times, you weather the bad times, and you know, you try to remember that you love each other.  And here we are, you know, forty-two years later …and we’re still sitting here talking about it, it’s fresh…”
