Consistency Is the Key!

Consistency is one of the most important components to focus on when you are embarking upon changing your lifestyle to a more active and healthy life.

If you are looking to improve your physical fitness, whether that be to tone or tighten, lose weight, get stronger or gain more endurance, there are several major components you must stick to. In this blog post, I am going to focus on one of these components–consistency. I believe this component is one of the more important aspects to hone in on quickly and to work on achieving.

When you are starting a new fitness program that includes adding workout routines and nutrition changes to your life, it is critical to stay focused and consistent. There are going to be days when you are tired and try to convince yourself to stay home instead of working out, or swinging by the fast food restaurant because you just don't want to cook. These are the days you need to remind yourself what it is you are trying to accomplish, and remind yourself what your goals are and why you have set these goals.

This is why it is called a "lifestyle change" and not just a diet. By working on your consistency and becoming more consistent, you will begin to see the results you are seeking. By going to the gym when you don't always want to and preparing your foods so you have something healthy to whip up on days you get home late, you will begin to develop healthier habits for the rest of your life.

By staying consistent, your choices become actions, your actions become habits and your habits will become lifestyle changes. This is where the true reason for why we want to be healthy becomes apparent. When you become a healthy and active person, you will live longer, prevent disease, have more energy and have a more full filled life. Oh yeah, and you might just fit into those skinny jeans!

Consistency is the key to making your goals a reality.
