Blog Post: Don't Work Out!!! (I mean it, and I own a PIlates Studio!)
Why you shouldn't workout -- why nobody should! Surprising take on exercise by the Strong Body Studio Founder & Principle Instructor.
Don't Work Out?
What is she saying, of course you have to workout, right? How else are you going to stay healthy, sexy-looking and fit?
Wait a moment, I didn't say don't exercise, I just said don't work out. I want you to exercise. I, more than many, could fill a thousand blog posts about the benefits of staying active (and I just may right here in the months to come!).

So, what are you supposed to do if you don't work out?
(Don't you just love how I'm inserting your dialogue here? I can't figure out whether that's annoying or time saving, I'll beg your indulgence to let it be the latter!)

DON'T WORKOUT ~ PLAY!!!
Approach the way you exercise as play. Not that it isn't important or serious; it is - vitally so on both points. Your very life and happiness may depend on it!!
Robert Frost, the poet wrote a poem part of which appears on the business card for the Strong Body Studio,
Only where Love and Need are one and the Work is Play..
As far back as 1938, Dutch cultural theorist, Johan Huizinga wrote about the importance of play in human society. He posed that our species could be as justifiable defined as homo ludens (playing man) as homo sapiens. His premise was that all culture arises from play (so you see, it's for the good of mankind in general, not just you in particular!)
Research has shown that our bodies and minds go into a different place, and exert energy in a totally different way when they are playing as opposed to working. We are most connected to both our creative and physical selves when in a state of play.
So, what does that mean, practically..
It means finding something to do with your body that also engages your passion. Whatever it is–whether it's Pilates/yoga/spin/hiking/dancing/biking/skiing/ jogging/bootcamp/weights/swimming, etc. always understanding that what may be a delight for one person may be torture for another)
If you don't truly enjoy what you're doing, then try something else!! If you're tired of working out, find a place where it doesn't feel like work, where you can play instead! (you just might find me or some other amazing people there to welcome you!)
Whether it's structured play or freeform, do something fun!
Do something that makes you breathe;
Do something that makes you sweat;
Do something that makes you stretch, and,
Do some that makes you strong.
