Illece Buckley Weber's September Weekend in Agoura Hills
What a great weekend in Agoura Hills! Creek clean-up, Sheriff's Station Open House and the grand opening of the Center for Jewish Life's new home.

I'm excited that the Agoura Hills Patch has invited me to share my thoughts with you. As many of you know, I am a candidate for the Agoura Hills City Council. The election is November 8. If you are not registered to vote, please go to my website www.illece2011.com and click on the link to the Secretary of State's office. It's fast and easy and then you can make a difference in your community by voting.
I've never blogged before so please bear with me. I'll start by telling you about my weekend. On Saturday, I joined the Cornell Preservation Organization, Heal the Bay and many members of our community to clean up Medea Creek. You have no idea how much trash we collected in and around the creek. Join me next year! We had a lot of fun and it was a hunt for the most remarkable trash. I helped carry out a couch of all things.
After cleaning off the dirt, I attended the Lost Hills Sheriff's Station 20th Anniversary Open House where I met Captain Joseph Stephen and others who keep our neighborhoods safe.

On Sunday, I joined in the celebration of the opening of the Center for Jewish Life at the Chabad of the Conejo. The new Center is absolutely magnificent and benefits our entire community. I was touched and moved by Rabbi Moshe Bryski's inspirational words. Mazel Tov to all who had the vision and drive to make this dream come true.
I think it's now your turn. What do you want to know about me or my vision for our great city? Tell me your concerns.
