OATMEAL is one of my favorite healthy breakfasts and I recommend it to clients quite often for its nutritional value (*soluble fiber, iron...) BUT wherever a box, tin, or can is involved so is the possibility of ADDED SUGARS. So be sure to ...read nutrition facts labels when choosing oatmeal and opt for one with less than 5g of sugar per serving. I was guilty of eating the sweetened apple cinnamon stuff (9g sugar per packet) for quite awhile but now I buy plain ol’ "America’s Choice" original instant oatmeal (1g sugar per packet) and use natural flavoring like cinnamon and berries or peaches to sweeten it the healthy way! How do you “spice up” your AM bowl of oatmeal??
