Restaurant Review Blog: At Grissini's, You Get the Best of Everything
A true taste of Italy is just around the corner.
Even with being on a special diet to eliminate the trendy stomach issues, one can always find the perfect, satisfying meal as . Lets see…no garlic, tomatoes & vinegar. (Good luck finding a meal that works for you in most Italian restaurants.) But at Grissini’s where the staff and the owner loves all their customers, they will prepare anything that works for you and whatever crazy diet you’re on.
I ordered the basic spaghetti carbonera without bacon but with zucchini. It was delicious! The flavor of the sauce even without the garlic was perfect–smooth, a perfect amount of richness, and just yummy!
When I’m not on this crazy food diet, I usually order the gnocchi with alfredo or four-cheese sauce. Their gnocchi has the most perfect consistency. Soft and not rubbery like at most Italian restaurants. Either of the cheese sauces is just incredible. Even a kid whose favorite pasta dish is mac & cheese will order and enjoy this great dish.

Their other pasta dishes are pretty exceptional, too. You can order any type of pasta from a fettuccine noodle to ravioli stuffed with mushrooms, lobster or butternut squash and then request meat, tomato, dairy or a veggie sauce to go over it. Let me tell you, I’ve tried most of their sauces and pastas and they all are amazing.
Besides pasta, they offer other great entrees, such as Santa Barbara shrimp when in season and it’s better than lobster! Also, many great fish dishes and their veal Parmesan are as good as the veal you would get at an Italian restaurant on the Jersey Shore.

Before ordering these incredible entrees, I always get their Caesar salad, which is the best I’ve had in L.A., and on a cold night I order their Stracciatella soup. This soup is my Italian version of chicken soup but with much better flavors. How can you go wrong with egg drops, spinach and Parmesan cheese in soup?
Of course my happy ending to this restaurant is to top off the meal with the tiramisu that is above all Tiramisu’s. It melts in your mouth and leaves you feeling very happy. For something more refreshing, my other favorite desserts are their various sorbets and ice creams covered in chocolate shells with a little surprise flavor in the middle. You definitely can’t go wrong with either of these desserts.
Not only will your palate be extremely satisfied eating here, the romantic atmosphere, Frank Sinatra as background music, and Guiseppe Bellisario’s warm greeting will make you want to come back again and again and again.
