If you’re looking for love in all the wrong places, start at home. To keep Cupid’s arrow from bypassing you this Valentine’s Day, lure him with some bedroom Feng Shui.

Focus on these areas: what you first see when you enter the bedroom; the wall across from the foot of the bed; and the “Relationship Gua” of the room (the right-hand corner on the side of the room opposite the door).

  • The bed should always be balanced on both sides, never be in line with the door, and no matter how tempting, the space below the bed should not be used as storage.
  • Pushing your bed against the wall crowds out a newcomer that you’re supposed to be welcoming. Arranging your bed so there’s enough space to walk on either side says “there’s room for you in my life”.
  • In the room’s relationship area, display objects grouped in pairs such as two candles or a bud vase with two silk roses on an end table or nightstand.
  • Send an inviting message to prospective suitors by creating cozy seating arrangements. Putting chairs at comfortable angles towards one another signifies your comfort with intimate conversation.
