A total of 627 acres east of the city would be the subject of the study.

The Agoura Hills City Council is scheduled to consider hiring a consultant to look at expanding the city’s eventual borders.

On Tuesday’s special meeting agenda is an item to spend $17,600 to hire Planning Plus of La Crescenta, a consultant to study expanding the city’s sphere of influence by 627 acres for possible annexation in the future. The land is located east of the city.

The study will look at such a move from technical, political, financial and environmental standpoints, according to a staff report.
