Community Shredding Event Set for November 7 at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park
Conejo Valley residents can drop off up to four boxes of paper, which will be shredded and recycled for free.

In response to hundreds of requests from throughout the community, Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks – Griffin Memorial Park, a local Dignity Memorial® provider, announced it will host a second, free Community Shred Day, Saturday, November 7, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Residents throughout the Conejo Valley are encouraged to bring up to four boxes of paper documents to be shredded at no charge.
“The response to our Community Shredding Event has been tremendous. We have received hundreds of requests from throughout the Conejo Valley asking when our next event will take place,” said Tamara Eacker, general manager of Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks – Griffin Memorial Park. “As a result of our June Community Shredding Event, we made a significant positive impact on the environment and helped hundreds of residents further protect their identity.”
At the June Community Shredding Event 6.75 tons of paper and cardboard were shredded and recycled. This effort saved the equivalent of 115 trees, 28 megawatts of electricity, and 40,500 gallons of water that would have been used to make new paper. In addition, residents who participated kept 20 cubic yards of “trash” out of local landfills.
