Concert to Feature American, Latin Folk Music
Fundraiser will feature Americana singer-songwriter, mandolin and guitar string wizard and Brazilian Hearts band

The Conejo Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will present a concert of traditional and original songs digging into the roots of North and South American folk music on Saturday, June 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Newbury Park.
The concert at 3327 Old Conejo Road will feature singer-songwriter Merlin Snider, former String Wizard band member Tom Corbett and Brazilian singer Katia Moraes with her combo Brazilian Hearts. The event, a fund-raiser for the church, has been billed as A Brief Living History of Folk (& Brazilian and Bluegrass & Stuff in Between).
Snider, who has recorded three albums of folk and Americana music, has drawn praise from critics for his storytelling lyrics that draw people into the songs. He will be accompanied by Deborah Snider on percussion and harmony. Corbett, a multi-instrumentalist folk singer-songwriter, has recorded chart-scaling albums and is known for his artistry on the mandolin and guitar. Brazilian-born vocalist and songwriter Moraes shares her native culture while performing with Ted Falcon on acoustic guitar and mandolin and Clarice Cast on percussion.
