In celebration of its 60th year, Conejo Valley Days is launching a 60th Anniversary “Instahunt” with clues that describe landmarks around the Conejo Valley. The contest runs now through May 8. Those who find all 10 landmarks and post pictures with them on Instagram are eligible to win prizes. The Instahunt contest is a run-up to this year’s festival May 11 through May 15, at Conejo Creek Park South in Thousand Oak.

Winners will be selected in a drawing on May 10. The grand prize is a one-day entry pass into CVD, a one-day ride wristband (good for unlimited carnival rides) and a CVD 60th anniversary commemorative button. Second and third place winners each receive two CVD entry passes.

1. You don’t need to go all the way to the Australian Outback to horse around. You can do that right here.

2: One of the oldest restaurants on the boulevard gives us a "wheelie" good glimpse of how we got around 100 years ago.

3: Though Native Americans didn’t have much use for canoes in the Conejo, this Native American is riding high in one

4: CLU owes a lot to this Norwegian family of farmers. Glad the university kept a part of the family’s history.

5: Before planes, trains and automobiles, this was a favorite Conejo Valley stage stop—although the original was destroyed by fire.

6: Lions used to perform tricks here. One even escaped. Still attracts visitors who want to be entertained.

7: Chumash families lived together in these hundreds of years ago.

8: Here’s a cowboy on horseback heading out on Hillcrest. Watch out! He’s about to be thrown—although he’s “banking” on happy trails.

9: Majestic Chumash bronze, but don’t get wet!

10: This honors a veterinarian who was kind to lions, tigers and bears at this very location for 40 years.

Hint: the landmarks reflect the Coney Valley’s heritage and history. Most of the landmarks are in plain view where you shop and where you eat. Some are a little out of the way.
