Motorcyclist Killed In Valley Hit-And-Run, Suspect Returns To Scene Hours Later: LAPD

The truck driver left the scene of the accident but returned hours later, police said.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash in the San Fernando Valley early Thursday morning, and the suspected driver later returned to the scene before being taken into custody, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The collision happened around 4:20 a.m. near Bradley Avenue and Tuxford Street in Sun Valley, according to police.

Investigators said a white 2017 Freightliner Cascadia truck was traveling northbound on Bradley Avenue and making a left turn into a business when the motorcyclist attempted to pass on the truck’s left side.

The motorcycle collided with the truck during the turn, police said.

The truck driver continued into the business property without stopping to render aid or exchange information as required by law, police claim.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the motorcyclist dead. His identity has not yet been released pending notification of relatives.

During the investigation, detectives identified both the vehicle and driver involved in the crash. Police said the suspect later returned to the scene and was taken into custody without incident.

The driver was identified as 64-year-old Glendale resident Edvard Gyulnazaryan, according to police.

He was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run causing death and booked into the Van Nuys Jail. Bail had not yet been determined Thursday, police said.
