Ladyface Alehouse Participates in L.A. Beer Float Showdown

Last year, The Golden State teamed with Scoops to vanquish BottleRock LA + MILK in the first ever L.A. Beer Float Showdown.

This year, four new faces emerge: Boneyard Bistro, Agoura Hills' own Ladyface Alehouse, Simmzy's and Tony's Darts Away have all stepped up to battle for a new crown.

On Oct. 10, as part of L.A. Beer Week, Food GPS presents L.A. Beer Float Showdown II. Four teams will converge on Verdugo Bar to create culinary fireworks, and the victor rests on your vote.

Boneyard Bistro brings the culinary stylings of chef-owner Aaron Robins and the beer expertise of bar manager Rory Snipes. Tony's Darts Away is led by general manager and beer expert Paige Reilly. Ladyface is the only team to incorporate house-made beer, courtesy of brewmaster Dave Griffiths. Simmzy's contributes some of the top beer minds in the South Bay.

Each team will make a single beer float. Everybody in attendance tastes each float and gets a vote, which is judged on flavor and originality.

Two of the city's best food trucks will even be there to sell savory food in case you're hungry for more than beer and ice cream: The Manila Machine and Mandoline Grill.

L.A. Beer Float Showdown II begins on Sunday, Oct. 10, at 5:30 p.m. Tickets cost $25 in advance via PayPal or $30 cash on the day of the event, including admission and all four beer floats. No matter how you pay, 50 percent of proceeds will benefit Share our Strength, which has been working to eradicate childhood hunger in the U.S. and Canada since 1988.
