Los Robles Master Chorale - HOLIDAY TREASURES

Los Robles Master Chorale will ring in the yuletide season with Holiday Treasures, its first ever family-oriented holiday concert. Featuring past and present favorites from the chorale's repertoire, the special afternoon performance, under the direction of artistic director Lesley Leighton, will be Sunday, December 12 at Ascension Lutheran Church in Thousand Oaks.

The concert will feature such seasonal choral classics as Roger Wagner's The Christmas Story according to Saint Luke, Alfred Burt's classic carols, and Irving Berlin's White Christmas. The global holiday celebration includes music from Germany, Venezuela, Russia, and Kenya, as well as a Hebrew piece by Israeli-born composer Meir Finkelstein, and arrangements by Americans Salli Terri, Don McCullough, and Daniel Pinkham.

Opera singer, composer, and educator Lesili Beard will be the guest narrator for The Christmas Story according to Saint Luke. The Carillon Choir of Ascension Lutheran Church will accompany the chorale on a number of songs and perform solo handbell pieces as well. And the audience will be invited to sing along on some secular favorites of the season.
