From 2003 until 2010, Hanson also served as president of the Lutheran World Federation. He previously served as bishop of the Saint Paul Area Synod and pastor of three Minnesota congregations. He is the author of “Faithful Yet Changing: The Church in Challenging Times and Faithful and Courageous: Christians in Unsettling Times.”
Hanson’s talk will be the keynote address for the regional gathering of NetVUE, an educational initiative administered by the Council of Independent Colleges with support from Lilly Endowment Inc. The two-day gathering at CLU is designed to foster the theological exploration of vocation as it relates to experiential learning.
