God's Dream For Your Life

Sometimes, in your experience with God, He will put a God-shaped dream in your heart and it will be God-sized!  How can you know if God is putting a dream in your heart?

When God Puts HIS DREAM in Your Heart, here’s What Will ALWAYS Be True:

First, God’s Dreams Are Big

For Abraham, it was: start a nation

For Joshua, it was: inhabit a land

For Daniel, it was: influence a pagan king and country

For Jesus, it was save My people from their sins.

Big Dreams!  Extraordinarily Big Dreams!

Next, because God-sized dreams are big, God’s Resources Are Required

God said to David, “Kill a giant.  I WILL be with you.”

God said to Abraham, “I know you’re too old to have kids. I WILL be with you.”

God said to Joshua, “I know giant warriors live in the land you are to possess.  I WILL be with you.”

It’s the moment we can look at our dream and conclude:  “God, I’ve got this.  God, use your time more wisely elsewhere, cause I’m on it,” THAT is the moment we are in trouble and it’s the moment we know it’s not God’s dream.

God’s dreams are bigger than us and require His resources.

Here’s another interesting point.

When it’s God’s dream, God’s dreams Are Not Stopped (only interrupted) Even by Death.

God said to Abraham,  “I’ll make you nation, though you don’t have descendants."  Then, God gave Abraham the child of promise: ISAAC!

Oh, how Abraham loved Isaac.  Then, God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love and sacrifice him for ME.” And as Abraham and Isaac went up to a mountain to give a sacrifice, Isaac noticed something was missing.

THE SACRIFICE.

“Hey, uh, dad!?? Where is the lamb we will kill for the sacrifice?”

And Abraham replied:  “God will provide a lamb.”  But Abraham had to contemplate, what if the dream dies on this mountain?

When the people of God were gathered on the shores of the river, so eager to possess the land of promise, spies came back from their exploratory visit and almost all of them said, “Impossible.  There are giants there.  We can’t win.”

It felt like the death of a dream.

What about you?   Was your dream a career, but for whatever reason, or for many reasons the dream died? Was it a marriage that died? A business that closed? A relationship with all your dreams attached that went away?

God’s dreams are only interrupted, but they are NEVER stopped---even by death.

God DID provide a lamb for Abraham and Isaac lived to fulfill the dream.

God protected Joshua and Israel and they DID inherit the promised land.

God closed the mouths of hungry lions and not one scratch was inflicted on Daniel.

And your marriage, that business, that relationship, that career--though it seems like a death to your dreams--GOD is not stopped, even by death.  An interruption, YES, but didn’t we just celebrate Easter?

Death can’t stop God’s work.  It didn’t stop Jesus. He came out of the grave.  And what ever has died in you or around you, God’s plans for His dream in you to continue to LIVE ON!
