Having perfect posture isn’t just standing up straight. It’s essential to build up the muscles in your back and shoulder to support your body weight while you are standing. Good posture also utilities your core and keeps your abdominal muscles working all day long.
One exercise that will help you strengthen your back muscles is the single arm row. To perform this exercise, find a flat bench in the gym. Place one knee and one hand on the bench and keep your back straight like a tabletop. Your opposite leg should complete a tripod by stabilizing you on the ground. Let your opposite arm hang straight down with a dumbbell. Pull the dumbbell towards the bottom of your rib cage, keeping your elbow in close to your side. Be sure to keep your back straight and your head in line with your spin, practicing good posture at all times!
