Happy Hour at the Alamo

My favorite drink: a margarita.

My favorite food: anything Mexican.

My favorite hour: Happy Hour! (What, doesn't everyone have a favorite hour?)

Is it any wonder that , with one of the best happy hours in town, is one of my favorite great escapes?

The cozy bar, located in the back of the restaurant, takes me back to the days of my early twenties when I knew every happy hour in town. I knew where to get the 25 cent tacos, where to get the $1 sliders and where to get the $2 beer.

Happy hour prices may have gone up a tad in the (sigh) twenty (or so) years since my early twenties, but you can still get an incredible deal at the Alamo. Their happy hour is from 3-7:00 p.m. daily. Draft beer is $2.50, well drinks are $3.50 and my beloved margaritas are a steal at only $4.00

And Monday through Friday, all appetizer items (except the shrimp cocktail) are half price. There are also free happy hour munchies that include a hot dish, veggies, with ranch dressing for dipping, and all the chips and salsa you could possibly eat.

A plate of three fish tacos and a refreshing margarita for less than $10? Count me in!

I may not be able to escape back to the glory days of my twenties, but nowadays, I love to meet some friends and escape to the Alamo.
