My husband and I tried that whole “weekly date with your spouse thing.” Yeah, that never really seemed to work for us–busy schedules, the expense of babysitters, and pure exhaustion once Saturday night rolls around always seemed to get in the way.
My husband and I do go out on occasion (occasion being the key word), so when we do go out, we like to go somewhere special. Somewhere where the food and the atmosphere, not to mention the wine, are nothing short of amazing.
Leila’s in Oak Park is that kind of place.

Foodies can delight in the seasonal menu. Couples will savor the cozy atmosphere. Girlfriends can enjoy a fun-filled GNO in the bar while partaking in the small plates (and dessert) menu.
General manager Joseph Kono claims that Leila’s food is just as good, if not better, than most you will find in L.A. and in a much more comfortable atmosphere.

He is right.
Leila’s has a fantastic wine list, and Joseph, or one of the incredibly friendly and knowledgeable waiters is happy to help you find the perfect glass or bottle for your palate. If wine isn’t your thing, Leila’s has a full bar with some wonderful signature cocktails.
Try the chili seared ahi tostada, grilled beef tenderloin skewer, crispy lobster tempura, or oysters on the half shell from the appetizer menu. The pan roasted local halibut, six-hour braised beef, or oyster mushroom risotto are more than worth the “trip out of town”. And whatever you do, save room for dessert. The bittersweet chocolate bread pudding is to die for and the wonderbar is a peanut butter lovers’ dream-come-true!
You don’t have to wait for a special occasion to come to Leila’s. It is said that two-thirds of their customers come once a week. Yes, it is that good! But once you come, you will see that special occasion or no occasion at all, Leila’s is one special place to which to escape.
Leila’s is located at 706 Lindero Canyon Road at the corner of Lindero and Kanan and is open Tuesday thru Sunday from 5:00 until closing.
Happy hour is in the bar Tuesday-Friday from 5-6 p.m.
