Meet An “Amazing” With An Impressive Commitment To Volunteering
Doris Iveson has been described as "a gem," "an inspiration," and "a beautiful person inside and out."

Doris Iveson, at 96, was awarded “Volunteer of the Year,” first among the 330 individuals nominated for the honor. Not only that, but this is Doris’ second “Volunteer of the Year” award in the 28 years she has volunteered every week at the reception desk at Pendle Community Hospital in the UK.
Doris, who began volunteering at the suggestion of a friend after Doris' husband’s passing, is unflagging in her commitment to the hospital. She does her work with joy, coming in week after week without fail. Doris, who has been variously described as “a gem,” “an inspiration,” and “a beautiful person inside and out,” says she was both surprised and thrilled to receive the award a second time.
