Pierce Brothers Candlelight Service of Remembrance on 12/13 and will serve as a collection spot for "Toys for Tots" drive

Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park, a local Dignity Memorial® provider, will host its annual non-denominational Candlelight Service of Remembrance on December 13. This annual tradition brings community members together to reflect on and remember their loved ones who are no longer with us. The service will start at 6:00 p.m. in Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Mortuary’s Chapel of the Oaks at 5600 Lindero Canyon Rd. in Westlake Village. The service is open to everyone in the community and no reservation is needed.

Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks will also serve as a collection spot for the “Toys for Tots” drive for needy children in the community. New, unwrapped toys can be brought to the office at any time through December 21, or delivered before the Candlelight Service of Remembrance.
“As we approach the end of another year, our minds are filled with memories of years past and loved ones who are no longer with us,” said Tamara Eacker, General Manager, Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Mortuary. “We realize that this may be a difficult time of year for you and your family, and we are committed to assisting you with your journey through this time of loss.”
The program will feature holiday music, a video tribute and a Candle Lighting Ceremony. During this special time in the service your family will be invited to light a candle in honor of a loved one lost this year.

Beginning November 27th there will be a “Tree of Remembrance” located in the lobby. Community members are encouraged to bring a photo or other memento and hang it on the tree with the ornament provided. If preferred, community members may bring their own personal ornament. The tree will be in the lobby until December 26th at which time or prior to, residents may pick up the ornament and bring it home as a gift from Pierce Brothers. Refreshments will be served following the service.
