Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park Hosts 49th Annual Easter Sunrise Service, March 27
The annual non-denominational service brings the community members, religious and civic leaders together in a serene, inspirational setting.

Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park (Pierce Brothers) hosts its 49th annual Easter Sunrise Service March 27 at 6:00 a.m. As luminaries in the shape of a cross light the dawn, thousands of residents will gather to celebrate this sacred day. Nearby, in the garden of Gethsemane, shepherds and their dogs will be tending a small flock of sheep as clergy unite participants in worship. Pierce Brothers is located at 5600 Lindero Canyon Road in Westlake Village, just north of the 101 Freeway. The service, open to all in the community, is sponsored by the Conejo Valley Interfaith Association.
“It’s remarkable that we have been hosting this uplifting celebration for nearly 50 years,” said Tammy Eacker, general manager at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park, a proud Dignity Memorial® provider. “We are proud to have created an event that so many in our community anticipate as an idyllic start to their Easter Sunday.”
As the Easter candles are lit, Dr. Gary Alan Dickey will play “Amazing Grace” on his bagpipes. During the service, scripture readings, music, prayers and a beautiful setting along with a flock of Easter sheep will inspire all who attend this moving non-denominational service. The Rev. Craig Beeker will present the Easter message. An offering will be collected and used to assist the Lutheran Social Services Agency of Thousand Oaks for outreach to the needy in the area.
