Rotary Club of Westlake Village Sunrise Annual Golf & Poker Tournaments
Rotary Club of Westlake Village Sunrise's Golf Tournament/Poker Tournament is October 5 at North Ranch Country Club.
The Rotary Club of Westlake Village Sunrise is holding its 29th Annual Golf Tournament Monday, October 5 at North Ranch Country Club (4761 Valley Spring Dr. Westlake Village). Following the golf tournament and an awards dinner, the Rotary Club will be hosting its 2nd Annual Poker Tournament.
Proceeds from the two events will support local community-based organizations and charities as well as K9s for Warriors (www.k9sforwarriors.org). K9s for Warriors is dedicated to providing service canines to warriors suffering from post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury or military sexual trauma as a result of military service post 9/11.
“Our club’s fundraisers over the last few years have raised nearly $200,000 for the benefit of charities locally and around the world,” says John Newhouse, the Rotary Club’s golf tournament chair. “If you play golf or poker (or both), it will be a fun day to raise funds for organizations that need our support.”

The golf tournament begins at 9:00 a.m. and includes breakfast, green fees and cart, lunch, refreshments on the course, reception/silent auction and the awards dinner. The cost is $250 per golfer or $950 for a foursome. Dinner only is $65 per person.
A “Golf Ball Drop” will take place at 5:00 p.m. sponsored by Hub International Inc and Rotary Club member Greg Taylor. Up to 1,000 golf balls will be dropped from a helicopter onto the driving range. The person whose ball lands in the cup (or closest to the cup) wins 50 percent of the amount collected (up to $5,000). Tickets for the Golf Ball Drop are $20. Tickets are numbered with balls have corresponding numbers. “This is an easy way for those who don’t golf, to still make a donation,” says Newhouse.
