Spring is a time to try new things and a spa weekend with friends is the perfect place to start. Spa treatments are available at a number of hotels and resorts in VenturaCountyWest. Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach, for example, offers a spa package with Coastal Skin Care, just down the street from the hotel. Four Points by Sheraton Ventura Harbor Resort provides a complimentary one-hour spa treatment onsite at its Spa by Diana Loring with a room booking at the standard rate while Embassy Suites Mandalay Beach Hotel and Resort has just added a private state-of-the-art spa.
A spa weekend and include other healthy fun such as walks on the beach, renting bikes for rides along the shore and hiking to Grant Park above Ventura, which offers miles of coastal and ocean views. Daily trips to the Channel Islands National Park (five islands 11 miles offshore) can be scheduled through Island Packers. Once there, visitors have the option of hiking, swimming, kayaking or doing all three.

Since wine is considered part of a healthy diet (by some), the girls weekend can include travels along the Ventura Wine Trail made up of 18 wineries in the county. The Ventura Wine Trail and the Ventura County Winery Association websites list limousine, Jeep and van winery tour options.
Many of wines from throughout Ventura County are available at independent restaurants around the area including Watermark on Main and Cafe Zack in Ventura, La Dolce Vita and Tierra Sur (at Herzog Wine Cellars) in Oxnard and Twenty 88 and Safire Bistro in Camarillo.

Some say shopping is good for the soul. For serious shoppers, there is the Camarillo Premium Outlets and its 160 stores including Armani, Coach, Kenneth Cole, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th and Tory Burch. The Outlets in Camarillo is a good last stop on your way back home after a relaxing, rejuvenating few days away with friends in VenturaCountyWest.
