Students March to School With the Mayor
Kicking off Agoura's Once City, One Book program, which features the World War II epic bestseller, 'Unbroken,' Mayor Denis Weber lead Sumac Elementary School students on a patriotic march Wednesday morning.
Sumac Elementary School students and their parents gathered at Sumac Park early Wednesday morning to help kick off Agoura Hills' One City, One Book program, which features the bestselling book Unbroken, a real-life survival story of a World War II pilot.
The children were given flags to wave, and Mayor Denis Weber, who served in the military, taught the approximately 100 students a formation drill, then lead them in a patriotic march to school.

Throughout the month of April, the City of Agoura Hills is presenting several community programs for all ages based on the book's theme of endurance, survival and redemption.
Throuougt the month, the Agoura Hills Library will showcase WWII memorabilia from local veterans and their families. In addition, many local restaurants are offering Unbroken discounts and specials.
