Triunfo YMCA Golf Tournament Raises Over $55,000 Including Hole-In-One Donation
More than $55,000 was raised during the 3rd Annual Triunfo YMCA Golf Classic in April at North Ranch Country Club.
More than $55,000 was raised during the 3rd Annual Triunfo YMCA Golf Classic in April at North Ranch Country Club. The “On Course For a Cause” tournament attracted 166 golfers. Proceeds from the day are going toward the Triunfo YMCA’s childcare and summer camp programs.
Tournament sponsor Neftin Westlake Mazda and Volkswagen offered a 24-month car lease to anyone who hit a hole-in-one on certain holes during the tournament. Golfer and Thousand Oaks resident Dan Cimino landed the hole-in-one—his fourth hole-in-one during his more than 22 years playing golf and his first at North Ranch Country Club. Cimino took the cash payout instead of the car lease and donated $2,500 back to the Triunfo Y.
“I love that kids can be involved in sports at the Y. Kids learn valuable character-building lessons through sports including that working hard will be rewarded,” says Cimino. “It’s nice to be able to share the hole-in-one prize with the organization.”

“The generous contributions by Dan, other tournament participants and our sponsors help underwrite the cost of our youth programs,” says Chrissy Withers, senior program director at the Triunfo Y. “We need this help to ensure that everyone in our community who wants to, can participate in our programs regardless of ability to pay.”
