Alameda to Hold Seaplane Lagoon Celebration Saturday
A kayak tour, walking tour and conveyance ceremony are all scheduled.

ALAMEDA, CA - The Seaplane Lagoon waterfront is part of Alameda Point, an 878-acre section of the decommissioned Naval Air Station, which ceased operation in 1997.
The Lagoon includes plans for a passenger ferry terminal and will become the public open space and retail center of Alameda Point.
The City of Alameda will hold a free Seaplane Lagoon Celebration this Saturday, July 23, 10 a.m. to noon. The ceremony will start at 12:30 p.m. The location is Ferry Point Road, near the Taxiway at Alameda Point.

The Celebration features three activities:
- Kayak Tour: Starting at 9am three groups of 20 registered kayakers will paddle around Seaplane Lagoon with Joe Stack, owner of Stacked Adventures
- Walking Tour: Join us at 10am for a 2.5-mile walk around Seaplane Lagoon with stops curated by local experts explaining upcoming plans at three development areas, Waterfront Park, De-Pave Park, and the Seaplane Lagoon Ferry Terminal
- Conveyance Ceremony: At noon remarks by Mayor Trish Spencer and members of the Alameda City Council, with light lunch provided by Pacific Fine Foods
This is the second phase of land conveyed from the Navy.
