Dear Friends,
We are preparing for Alameda’s 21st Annual Sing-It-Yourself Messiah performance. It will be held this year at Christ Episcopal Church, 1700 Santa Clara Ave. in Alameda, California on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 4:00pm. We will be presenting the Christmas Section and the Hallelujah chorus of George Fredrick Händel’s Messiah Oratorio with chamber orchestra, soloists, harpsichord and organ.
To get your voice prepared for the sing-along, there will be two optional open chorus rehearsals offered on Sundays, November 29th and December 6th at 6:00pm at Christ Church. These are wonderful opportunities to warm-up and prepare for this joyous event. Of course, you don’t even have to sing. Everyone is welcome – listeners or observers may come and enjoy this inspirational oratorio.

The sing along is free, however there will also be a free-will offering taken to help offset the expenses for the event. There is a sliding scale, but a suggested donation of $15 would be greatly appreciated. Please bring a copy of The Messiah if you have one. If you don’t, there’ll be a limited supply of “on-loan” scores available. Participants are also requested to bring canned or dry food items for donation to the Alameda Food Bank.
