All Solar Rebates From AMP Reserved
Residential rebates were taken by 2013. Now, the last of the commercial rebates are spoken for.

ALAMEDA, CA — Alameda Municipal Power announced today that the remaining funds in a $4.2 million solar rebate program for commercial and residential customers have been committed to a local solar project.
Harbor Bay One LLC’s solar project recently became the final project to reserve the solar program funding. “An obstacle to all renewable projects is that they are capital intensive,” said Steven Ross, representing Harbor Bay One. “Any incentive from the public sector to the private sector is much appreciated and helps to make the project a reality.”
In 2008, the State of California mandated in a state law (SB1) that all electric utilities provide rebates over the following 10 years to residential and commercial customers who install an approved solar energy system. AMP allocated $4.2 million for rebates, with approximately two-thirds of the total reserved for commercial projects and the remaining one-third for residential projects. All of AMP’s rebates for residential customers were reserved by 2013.

Though AMP is no longer accepting applications for the solar rebate program, other options are available to customers who would like to invest in renewable power.
