• Long-planned project to improve Alameda-Oakland-I-880 access breaks ground (localnewsmatters.org) — Construction has officially started on the $175 million Oakland Alameda Access Project, which will reshape how Alameda drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians connect to I-880 and Oakland through the Posey and Webster tubes. Expect new direct freeway connections, added bike and pedestrian lanes, and reconfigured ramps aimed at easing congestion and improving air quality by 2029.
