OAKLAND, CA — A man has been arrested in connection with a bank robbery in Oakland on Monday afternoon, police said.

The suspect was given the cash and was last seen walking southbound on Piedmont Avenue, according to the East Bay Times.

It's unclear how, but police were able to identify the suspect and took him into custody just after 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday at a residence in West Oakland, authorities said.

Officers later served a warrant and found evidence related to the robbery, police said.

The suspect was not immediately identified. Police said the case will be forwarded to the Alameda County District Attorney's Office, which will weigh whether there's enough evidence to charge the suspect.
