OAKLAND, CA — Two men have been charged in connection with a sideshow that erupted in Oakland last year when the popular streamer iShowSpeed visited the East Bay city, according to prosecutors.

Prosecutors say Axel Cisnerosmentos and Aron Anaya organized and facilitated the illegal sideshow when the renowned streamer visited in September, prompting massive crowds in San Francisco and Oakland.

Cisnerosmentos and Anaya were charged Monday with two misdemeanors: organizing and facilitating a sideshow, a misdemeanor, and aiding and abetting a speed contest, the Alameda County District Attorney's Office said.

"Sideshows are not harmless gatherings," District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson said in a statement on Monday. "These illegal events routinely cause vandalism, reckless driving, injuries, property damage, and pose significant threats to public safety. Individuals who organize, promote, and facilitate these activities will be held accountable."

Sideshows are vehice takeovers where drivers do donuts on city streets and other stunts. Bay Area cities have cracked down on the illegal gatherings.

Last week, 23 people were charged following an illegal sideshow on the Bay Bridge. Police confiscated more than 70 dirt bikes and all-terrain vehicles during the incident.
