OAKLAND, CA — Residual delays continue on the Bay Bridge Thursday morning following a fatal crash involving a motorcyclist, authorities said.
It's unclear what led up to the crash. Authorities say the motorcyclist collided with another car around 5:30 a.m. along the westbound Interstate 80, just after passing the metering lights.
The impact sent the motorcyclist into the No. 2 lane, authorities said, adding that they died at the scene.
The crash caused heavy delays on the Bay Bridge on Thursday as authorities closed lanes to investigate the crash. All lanes have since been opened, but authorities say there is still residual traffic on the bridge as of 9 a.m.
