Police Arrest 3 East Bay Men Suspected Of Boosting From Cars In SF

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Three East Bay men have been arrested in connection with a series of ongoing car burglaries in San Francisco over the last several weeks.

Jalen Bryant, 31, of Antioch; Taekwondo Henry Clay Maxwell, 31, of Oakland, and Icelynnd Lanere, 39, of Pittsburg were arrested Saturday on suspicion of second-degree burglary, conspiracy, and possession of stolen property, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

Police say the three suspects broke into a car in a parking garage in the 400 block of Kearney Street on May 28 and stole several items, police said.

Authorities identified Bryant as a suspect in that auto theft and tracked down a potential car associated with him, police said.

On Saturday, the same suspect car was seen on automated license plate readers entering San Francisco, prompting officers to follow using a drone.

They followed the suspect car into a parking garage near Chinatown, where officers heard glass shatter before seeing the car drive out of the garage, police said.

Inside the garage, officers saw that two vehicles had been broken into. Other officers, meanwhile, continued to surveil the suspects until they saw them dumping the stolen items, police said.

They continued driving but were arrested shortly after following a traffic stop, police said, adding that the stolen items were returned to their owners.
