Traffic Stop Ends With Drug Bust At Alameda Apartment Complex: Police

ALAMEDA, CA — A traffic stop in Alameda on Sunday ended with officers seizing a large number of drugs from a home, authorities said.

Officers pulled the driver over after noticing the registration tags on his car were from more than 11 years ago, according to the Alameda Police Department.

The driver was still on probation, and therefore, officers searched his car, where they found drugs, drug paraphernalia and materials consistent with drug sale, police said.

Officers, under the terms of probation, also searched a nearby apartment connected with the driver, police said.

There, officers found multiple items can be used to manufacture drugs, including propane tanks and tubing, police said.

More than 30 grams of suspected methamphetamine, more than 40 pounds of suspected marijuana concentrate, various pills, and additional drug paraphernalia were seized during the search, police said.

Police did not identify the suspect or say whether they were taken into custody. The case remains under investigation, according to authorities.
